Join New England’s arts presenters and cultural organizers for a Cultural Equity Workshop: Undoing Racism and Building Cultural Change on May 9 in Concord, New Hampshire.

Harold Steward and Sara Mokuria from Steward Cultural Development Group (SCDG) will facilitate a full-day workshop to help participants build a shared vocabulary by examining race, privilege, power, and systems of oppression. Through exploring anti-racism and anti-oppression together in a brave space, participants will develop new strategies and ideas to help affect cultural and institutional change within business operations and programming in their communities.

Co-hosted by Arts Presenters of Northern New England (APNNE)New England Presenters (NEP), and New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA).

    Framework:

Cultural Development is a strategic process that SCDG uses with organizations, communities and cities to develop leaders, build organizational capacity and increase and sustain cultural assets. SCDG uses a multidisciplinary culture-driven approach that engages communities to expand their tools to be able to live and thrive in cultural vibrancy. The SCDG team is comprised of a social worker, an arts administrator, and a public policy researcher who all are skilled in leadership and organizational development, program design/evaluation, and community and cultural organizing.

    Registration:

Space is limited. Only one person per organization may register. Registration is first-come, first-served. Senior leadership staff from arts presenting organizations are highly encouraged to participate. A waitlist will be available for additional staff members.

Priority will be given to Arts Presenters of Northern New England (APNNE) and New England Presenters (NEP) members.

A limited number of travel stipends are available for organizations with budgets under $1 million or those traveling more than three hours.
